The Fine Print

There are a few rules you’ll have to abide by, including the following:

  • Thursday nights: 13th October to 24th November 2016.
  • Games will generally be played between 6pm and 9pm. The length of competition is anywhere from one hour to 2 ½ hours.  Please make sure you are on time for your games.  If teams are late, you will either be defaulted, or game time for that game will be reduced (this is at the discretion of the organiser).
  • The cost is $400 per team (approx. $33.33 per person for a team of 12).
  • Payment will be required to confirm your place in the competition as places will be limited.
  • Draws and information will be emailed to team captains each week on the Monday morning.
  • For each sport teams will play each other in one round robin format.
  • Points will be awarded as follows:
    Win – 3 points; Draw – 2 points; Loss – 1 point; Default – 0 points.
After the round robin matches teams will be given a points differential total to help separate teams that are in a tie situation. This means every point for and against counts.
  • Only those registered on your team list can play. If someone withdraws due to injury you must get permission to register another player. The organisers have the right to refuse substitute players if they are a regional or national representative of that particular sport.
  • This is a mixed competition so teams must include at least four female players. Each sport must have a minimum of two females playing the game throughout the competition and game time.
  • Joker: Each teams will get to play their Joker for the sport they believe they will be most successful in. Double competition points are awarded for this sport. Please inform the competition organiser before the start of your first game if you wish to play your joker.
  • Teams will be required to referee. Games and referring will be shown on the draw sent out on Mondays. Any Team who does not supply a referee will be deducted 2 points.
  • It is compulsory for all players taking part in hockey to wear a mouth guard.
  • Please ensure all team players wear appropriate (non-marking) footwear when playing on the MLT Event Centre courts.
  • Team uniforms are not compulsory but would be well received.
