Sport Southland Kiwi Seniors walk group recently participated in the Cancer Society Relay for Life held at Rugby Park.
With a number of team members being survivors of Cancer it was poignant for these people to take part in the survivors lap all proudly wearing their purple ‘survivors’ sashes.
A very humbling experience when you see that this disease has no boundaries – affecting male or female – babies to senior citizens.
Support for this fundraising event was amazing, with Sport Southland staff supporting our walk group in this event.
After 22 hours of relay – our Kiwi Seniors had raised $3,537.90. A tremendous effort.
