Email: ann.robbie@sportsouthland.co.nz

Ann works on the Green Prescription programme encouraging, supporting and advising patients with their physical activity choices. Her personal commitment to physical activity and enthusiasm for life are put to good use in her role as a Patient Support Advisor.

Ann helps co-ordinates the KiwiSeniors walking programme and also assists with the delivery of Movement for Health (Modified Tai Chi) and predominently works with 'older' aged clients.

Previous experience as a First Aid Instructor supports her role with health-related issues. She has worked with welfare clients and was a team leader of the emergency response unit. Ann has trained to pre-hospital Core 3 level of first aid. She also continues to volunteer for Southland Karting Association and Southland Sport Car Club events as well as taking a lead role in First Aid at our own events.

Ann’s sporting interests include netball, cycling, tramping, tennis - Actually anyhting outdoors. Ann is a keen ‘outdoors’ person and loves being involved in events. She has also had a strong association with scouting, having been a Kea, Cub and District Leader as well as attaining Advanced Leadership (wood beads).

As a qualified horticulturalist, Ann enjoys her large garden - finding it a physically active challenge. Her other love is playing the bagpipes, having rejoined the Waimatuku Southern Scenic Highland Pipe Band in 2006, after a 28 year absence from band/competition work.

Ann and her husband Peter reside on a lifestyle block just out of Invercargill, which suits this busy ex-farmer and mother of 4 adult sons.

Community service is important to Ann, having served on numerous Plunket, School and Lions club fundraising committees. Current member of Winton Lions.
