Peter Dunne (Sport Manager)

Peter was born in Winton and has spent much of his life in Southland. He went to boarding school in Oamaru and University in Christchurch.
His previous employment positions have been CEO of Counties Manukau Rugby Union and Executive Director of Badminton New Zealand.
Peter returned to Southland in 2008 after his 8 year stint in the North Island, and has taken on a new role as Sport Development Manager for Sport Southland.
What he is going through now is `what is sport development?' and to a certain extent (Sport Southland chief executive Richard Hoskin) has given him a “blank piece of paper". He'll definitely focus on the regional sports organisations in Southland and identify with them where Sport Southland may be of assistance to achieve common goals.
Peter is father of two – Kelly, aged 26 and currently in London on her big OE and Regan, aged 24 who is employed at Tiwai in addition to having his own equine dentistry business.
