Low Cost Zumba

 
Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what the Zumba® program is all about. It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that’s moving millions of people toward joy and health  (excerpt from www.zumba.com).
 

Real Zumba classes can only be instructed by a qualified Zumba instructor.  Sport Southland is now running low cost Zumba classes for people of all ages to enjoy the fun active opportunity that is Zumba. There are two exciting hour-long sessions per week, led by qualified instructor Tanya McEwan, of Training with TanZ:

Low cost: $6 per session, or $2 for community service card holders.

2011 Low Cost Zumba Survey: Results

Recently a survey of 30 Zumba participants was conducted, with the following results:

  • 30% attended occasionally or fortnightly; 30% attended weekly and 36% attended a lot
  • 81% of respondents reported being more active overall since they began attending Zumba
  • 78% generally feel better
  • 72% feel fitter/stronger

Of the 22 respondents who attended weekly or a lot:

  • 86% generally feel better
  • 82% feel fitter/stronger
  • 64% have more energy
  • 59% are less stressed
  • 55% have lost weight
