National Intercentre Finals – Region 6 Qualifying
The Southland Women’s team travelled to the Taieri Bowling Club in Mosgiel to compete in the Region 6 qualifying tournament to find the qualifier to the National Intercentres.
The team was Liz Tomlins, Averil Fowler, Pam Calder, Sue Kincaid, Joan McGregor, Joanne Toogood, and Dale Dixon.
Results:
Versus South Otago – singles lost 16-21, pairs won 26-14, fours lost 15-19.
Versus North Otago – singles lost 7-21, pairs won 22-7, fours drew 16-16.
Versus Central Otago – singles won 21-12, pairs won 24-13, fours lost 12-28.
Versus Dunedin – singles lost 6-21, pairs lost 9-24, fours lost 12-21.
Versus South Canterbury – singles lost 20-21, pairs won 22-17, fours won 16-9.
Points: Dunedin 21, South Otago 18, South Canterbury 14, Southland 13, Central Otago 12, North Otago 12.

The team was Jeff Johnston, Glenn Milne, Ross Stewart, Paul Barclay, Roger Toogood, Graham Low, and Paul McKinnel.

Versus South Otago – singles won 21-9, pairs lost 15-17, fours lost 15-19.
Versus North Otago – singles won 21-8, pairs won 24-10.
Versus Central Otago – singles lost 6-21, pairs lost 14-16, fours won 21-12.
Versus Dunedin – singles lost 15-21, pairs won 21-13, fours lost 16-21.
Versus South Canterbury – singles lost 14-21, pairs lost 11-20, fours drew 14-14.
Points: South Otago 19 points, Central Otago 18 points, Dunedin 18 points, South Canterbury 17 points, Southland 13 points, North Otago 5 points.
