The Sport Southland events team are kept busy year round, from co-ordinating events (including the BNZ Surf to City, Ascot Park Hotel Festival of Running and MLT Moonshine Trail), helping groups get their events off the ground, providing timing and event support, co-ordinating volunteers, right through to providing traffic management plans and assisting with online entries.

Events Caravan

Ascot Park Hotel Southland Festival of Running Sunday 11 November, 2012 www.southlandfestivalofrunning.co.nz

The Ascot Park Hotel Southland Festival of Running incorporates the oldest marathon in the Southern Hemisphere – the Southland marathon, which runs from Riverton to Invercargill; as well as the half marathon, 10km and 5km events and the SBS Kids' Mara FunRun.

It is Southland's premier running event and one not to miss!
