Welcome to the site of the Southland Uni Games 2010 which will be hosted in Invercargill and Gore. The games is expected to be a massive event for Southland and we are expected 1000 - 1200 plus competitors across 20+ sports.
The Consortium Partners are delighted to be given the privilege of hosting the 2010 UniGames: April 13-16th, 2010
We look forward to bringing the following key elements together for the 2010 UniGames: • a united consortium of the stakeholders in total support of the Bid
• a fully funded Bid
• World class facilities and venues
• full support of the Southern Institute of Technology
• close proximity (clustering) of the majority of Venues, facilities & accommodation
• accommodation stocks which meet the UniGames profile/needs
• proximity of most of the above to the City Centre
• Stadium Southland as a natural Event hub
• considerable previous major (International ) Event hosting experience on this scale
• 100% commitment from our Regional Sports organisations to support the codes we propose
• capacity, expertise and experience in human resource to deliver
• “Southern Hospitality” to deliver a memorable Games
• a social programme that will enhance competitors experience while being hosted in Invercargill
• a close secondary venue in Gore – 40 minutes up State Highway 1 from Invercargill
• experienced and committed local partner – Sport Southland
