Proposed Sporting Venues

Stadium Southland is one of New Zealand’s most successful Stadiums.

During the 2010 UniGames, it will act as:
• Games HQ,
• Info Centre
• IT Centre
• Media Centre
• Transport Hub [for competitors to get to/from their accommodation to their sporting venues and back].

All other sporting code City venues are within a 2km radius of Stadium Southland.
Those at the Sandy Point Recreation Reserve are 12 minutes from the CBD, or 15 minutes from the Stadium.
The surfing venue at Curio Bay (Catlins) is 45 minutes away.

As well as being the UniGames venue for the above codes within the building, , the Stadium is at the centre of a cluster of other sporting code’s facilities – including Badminton Hall and Surrey Park Football Stadium.
