Mission: To work alongside sporting organisations in Southland to enhance their outcomes

Sport Southland recognises Sport Development as “improving the capability of sporting organisations enabling them to bring to maturity, projects which help achieve their stated goals”

Vigorous and robust relationships will ensure that Sport Southland and its partners are able to satisfy the following KPI’s and consequently achieve our vision on an ongoing basis.

They are to:
• Get Southlanders physically active and/or playing organised sport
• Have world class training facilities and equipment
• Win consistently in national events and show continued improvement on the international stage
• Host national and international sporting events with spectator support and fanatical fans
• Grow leaders from local youth into international influencers

Our services to the Southland sporting community include:

Coaching
Working with RSO’s to ensure the recruitment, reward, professional development and retention of coaches.

Workshops

Promotion and facilitation of workshops for athletes, coaches, development officers, administrators, officials, and volunteers.

Providing the latest technology and tools for Southland’s regional sporting organisations to assist them and their members achieve their full potential.

Sport Opportunity
Assisting sporting organisations and individuals to include people with a disability into sport and active recreation.
