Secondary School Coach Development Programme
63 Secondary School Coaches from every Southland Secondary High School have currently completed three of five modules. The next module is Sunday February 28th.
By 2012 180 student coaches will have completed our programme.

Whistlers Programme
For more Southland people to be active in organised sport our Whistlers programme provides opportunity for 80 student referees, judges and umpires to officiate at local competitions.
Like our Coaches Programme 240 officials will have completed our programme by 2012.
Future Champions Programme
For aspiring athletes who wish to play representative sport for Southland and New Zealand.
We will teach our young Southland talent how to be athletes.
Our aspiring talented youngsters will start off with a skills based conditioning programme concentrating on agility speed and aerobic development.
Coach Corp
The SPARC Coach Corp programme runs over both summer and winter codes.
New to Southland, local Business allow a specified time for their employees to contribute their time to coach officiate or administer with local kids sport.
Key time for starting for the 2010 winter season programme will be in February & March for a Winter season start in School Term 2. August & September will be spent organising our first summer season in October in School Term 4.
Coach Development for aspiring RSO / NSO coaches
In partnership with Rugby Southland, Netball Southland and Academy South Island we wish to start a pathway for coaches wishing to coach from a school and or a club to Southland level (RSO) or for Southland coaches who wish to coach at a South Island and or National level (NSO)
The SPARC Coaches conference will be held in May 2010.
Monthly meetings will be held with different topics guest speakers and resource material to assist our coaches to grow their confidence and skills to deliver at higher levels.
This programme will also compile a video data base of our different coaches coaching to provide practical coaching solutions for all of our coaches who wish to watch the actions of other coaches to decide what style works for them.
